About Me - Coach Henze

My Background

Youth baseball has been my passion ever since I was six years old. My mom decided to sign me up for tee-ball that spring and the rest is history… Every year since, I have either played baseball, coached a baseball team or did both. The sport of baseball has actually become something my entire family loves!

I have played youth baseball, high school baseball, collegiate baseball and amateur baseball in both Minnesota and Arizona. I have also coached youth traveling baseball, youth traveling softball and varsity high school baseball.

Currently, I am focusing on my own kids and instilling the love of the game in them. My eight year old son has totally taken to the game and loves playing and attending games. My 11 year old daughter plays fast-pitch softball and really enjoys watching baseball games with me. We have season tickets to the Minnesota Twins and attend many of their games. Target Field is an awesome place and a great place to instill that love of the game.

To make a long story short... Baseball is in my blood!

Ex-Players That Are Playing Pro Baseball

Over the course of my years coaching, I have had the pleasure of coaching MANY outstanding baseball players! A number of these players have moved on to play collegiate baseball and a few of them have even moved on to play professional baseball. Below is a list of my ex-players that have played professional baseball. Click on their names to read more about them!

  • Matt Meyer - Matt was a three-year varsity player for Rochester Mayo High School in Rochester, MN. He moved on to play collegiate baseball for the Boston College Eagles. He was drafted by the Cleveland Indians after college. He has bounced around a little, but is now one of the Anaheim Angels top left-handed pitching prospects. Finished the 2011 season with AAA Salt Lake team. Played in the Dominican Republic Fall League.
  • Aaron Senne - Aaron was a three year varsity player for Rochester Mayo High School in Rochester, MN. He was drafted by the MN Twins out of high school, but opted the college route and played for the Missouri Tigers and ended up having a great career there. He was drafted by the Twins again after his junior year, but opted to return for his senior season. During his senior year in 2010, Aaron was named the Big 12 Conference Player of the Year.

He was drafted by the Florida Marlins that season and had a good first year before having Tommy John Surgery. He missed all of the 2011 season and will look to have a great year in 2012!
