Baseball Fundraising and Youth Sports Fundraising... What Works? Coaches are always put in charge of baseball fundraising, softball fundraising or any organization's fundraising efforts. As a coach, it isn't the best part of the job, but it has become more and more important as youth organizations are budgeting less and less to it's teams. Sports fundraising has become big-business over the past decade and you want to be careful what type of fundraiser you choose. Most fundraisers require you to sell something like a product or service. Some fundraisers ask people to sponsor others in a race or marathon. With all of these options, you will find yourself asking which ones are best... I will try my best to tell you which ones I feel are best below. They tend to be the most reasonable and EVERYBODY wins.The business wins because they get more business and they are seen as donating to a youth organization. The organization wins because they are raising money and making a very good profit on each card sold. The buyer is winning because they are getting a very good bang for their buck (a $10-$20 card typically saves 100's of dollars). Lastly, the youth athletes win because they are playing with better equipment and facilities. All in all, this type of youth fundraising can raise a lot of money in a short period of time. Online Shopping FundraiserAnother very simple baseball fundraising tool is an online shopping fundraiser. You may not make as much money as fast but, depending on your marketing effort, it is possible to make good money. It is also VERY EASY. There is not work on your part (except for marketing it to your fans).Basically, you have a relationship with an online source that sets up links for your organization (parents, fans, board members, etc) to purchase items online. The items purchased are tracked and your organization makes a percentage on each item sold. If you "SELL" this type of fundraiser to your parents and other fans, you can do pretty well!
