How To Make A Baseball - Six Layers Needed!
Pill - The pill of the baseball is the core. The pill is a little smaller than a golf ball and is made up of cork wrapped around with a rubber covering.
4-Ply Wool - A course 4-ply wool is wrapped around the pill first to make the ball much fatter.
3-Ply Yarn (heavier) - This yarn gives more substance to the baseball
3-Ply Yarn (lighter) - Just another layer to add substance to the ball which is much lighter.
Thinner Poly/Wool Blend - This yarn is much smoother and makes up the 2nd to last layer of the baseball.
2 Pieces of Figure-8 Shaped Leather - These two pieces of leather are sewn together with 108 stitches and makes the outer covering of the baseball.
