Sports Websites Are Common Today And Have Helped Organize Many Sports Organizations

Sports websites have become the norm for the past decade, but over the past few years they have really taken off and become more of a "content management system" and not just an web site maker. These new sports websites do it all for the organization! They publish information, register players, send mass emails to members, sell equipment online and much much more. The biggest problem with most of them is that they are confusing to use!

Ten years ago, I was put in charge of a youth baseball organization's web site in Rochester, MN. The purpose of the baseball website was to publish information for people to see. Looking back, it was cumbersome, confusing and a lot of work for not much benefit. I have since stepped down from that position, but I have taken on other youth sports web sites that do use content management systems.

I am currently the "web guy" at a local youth softball organization and we use a product called "League Athletics." The softball websites software is the BEST I have ever used. It is simple and very easy to use if you take the time to learn it. From one administrative window, I can publish information, take payments for online registrations, send mass emails out to members and sell equipment/apparel as a fundraiser. It is awesome! The BEST part of it is the cost... It is very inexpensive considering how much money and time the organization saves using it.
